Supervised and Supported Contact

Supervised and supported contact is when children have planned time with their parents or family members in a safe and structured way. Supervised contact means a trained worker is present at all times, closely observing and ensuring the child’s safety and wellbeing. Supported contact is less intensive, with staff available to assist and offer guidance if needed, but not monitoring every interaction. The aim is to maintain family relationships while keeping the child safe, promoting positive interactions, and providing feedback to help families strengthen their bonds in a safe environment.
